The Kit
Every Energy Kit used makes a real difference. When you install energy-efficient showerheads, faucet aerators and replace lightbulbs, the energy saved every day adds up.
Duke Energy provides one FREE Energy Kit per household every 36 months for qualified Duke Energy account holders. Households must be associated with schools participating in the My Energy Kit program.
Can’t get a kit? Not to worry! Your request will still be credited to your school and count toward school and classroom rewards.

What’s in the kit?
Two 5-Watt Candelabra LED Bulbs
Just one ENERGY STAR® qualified LED bulb can save approximately $80 or more in energy costs over its lifetime.

Energy-Efficient Showerhead
A standard showerhead uses about 3.8 gallons of water per minute. The water-saving showerhead in the kit uses 1.5 gallons per minute, without sacrificing water pressure. It also features a 9-jet adjustable turbo massage that easily rotates from a gentle needle spray to a forceful jet.
Kitchen Faucet Aerator
Bathroom Faucet Aerator
Most modern faucets pour out about 2.2 gallons per minute (GPM), and older faucets use even more. The aerators in the kit help your faucets use less water – the kitchen aerator uses 1.5 GPM, and the bathroom aerator only 1 GPM. The aerators work by injecting air into the stream. This boosts the water pressure, yet reduces the water used.

Additional kit contents include:

- Teflon Tape (used for installing the Showerhead and Faucet Aerators)
